  • Specialized assessment referrals are made when school staff have tried various strategies and need more support. This may also assist with a student's transition to adulthood and aims to lead to greater student success.

  • I schedule a timeframe similar to a full school day (9:00-3:00) to complete all of the testing. However, it might not take the entire time.

  • The most a psychologist can do is recommend that parents/guardians consult with the student’s doctor to discuss medications. The decision is up to you.

  • I will provide a confidential written report with results and recommendations. You can share it with anyone you choose.

  • The total cost for the psychoeducational assessment is $3800. This fee covers the intake interview, assessment sessions, a debrief of the results, and a comprehensive report. A detailed receipt can be provided and submitted to third-party insurance providers.

  • Ensure your child is well-rested and has sufficient meals/snacks on the assessment day.

    • If your child wears glasses or uses hearing aids, please ensure they have them.

    • If your child takes medication, ensure they take it as directed on assessment day.

    • It is also important to let your child know about what an assessment entails:

      • For younger students, emphasize the play aspect, focusing on puzzles and games (you may not want to use the words: “testing” or “assessment”).

      • For older students, describing games and school-type work is often helpful, but no marks or grades are given.
